This is a workshop for parents, educators and child-care workers aimed to educate people on the nature of anger and to provide effective strategies for responding to anger that de-escalates an explosive episode and reduces over all anger in the family.

We all get angry from time to time, but when uncontrollable angry outbursts have become the norm in your family, it is necessary to get things under control quickly. The home should be a safe place where everyone can feel relaxed. When there is a family member with angry outburst, the whole family is affected. Anger often leads to tantrums or rages, which can be a very scary experience for everyone, including the one having the outburst.

In this workshop we will:

  • Learn the basics behind the anger

  • Discuss the physical reaction that takes place in the body

  • Learn about the cognitive distortions and faulty thinking patterns that precede feeling angry

  • Develop coping strategies for bringing the body back down after an adrenalin rush

  • Learn how to conduct a post-mortem after the fact to help prevent future occurrences

  • Discover ways to deal with parental emotions when dealing with an angry child

  • Identify possible sources of discouragement

  • Learn ways to increase their social interest and rebuild relationships

The techniques taught in the class will be mainly for children, but adults with anger issues will also benefit. I look forward to working with you to help bring peace and calm into your home.
