My gay friends have told me how hard it was in their childhood hearing all the pat stereotypical lines that parents say to their kids without thinking about how biased and anti-homosexual their language was.

Hindsight eh? Perhaps your child is gay and you don’t know it yet. Are you watching what you are saying?
