Teachers Really Do Save Lives – Listen to This Poem

Poem About the Importance of Teachers

I recently wrote a kind of testimonial about the importance of the Adlerian approach in the classroom.

Many children, often those who are very very bright, create disturbances in our classrooms.  The children of our nation are often misunderstood and mistreated, and we systemically discourage them further and further.

How timely was it then, that this morning (May 18th, 2007), as I listened to my daily podcast of Garrison Keillor on The Writer’s Almanac, that his poem reading today was “Mrs Krakorian” by Sharon Olds? It’s a beautiful poem that every teacher and every parent of a child with classroom issues should listen to.
